Public Transit - Bus
From South End, walk to the nearest bus stop on Washington St. and catch the #43 bus towards Alewife. Ride the bus for approximately 15 minutes and get off at the Bunker Hill Community College stop. From there, walk towards the Bunker Hill Monument, then follow the signs to the Charlestown Navy Yard. You'll be walking about 10-15 minutes uphill to reach the entrance of the Boston National Historical Park.

Head to the nearest subway station, which is the 'Massachusetts Ave' station on the Orange Line. Take the Orange Line train towards Oak Grove. After 4 stops, get off at the 'North Station' stop. From there, exit the station and walk approximately 15 minutes to the Charlestown Navy Yard. You can follow the signs for the Charles River Walk which will lead you directly to the Navy Yard.

Walking
If you prefer to walk from South End, you can head north on Washington Street and then turn left onto Tremont Street. Continue walking until you reach the Charles River, then take the path along the river north towards Charlestown. This scenic walk is about 2 miles and will take you roughly 40-45 minutes. Once you get close to the Navy Yard, you will see signs directing you to the Boston National Historical Park.
