If you are traveling by car, start from downtown Salem. Head south on Washington Street. Continue straight as it turns into Bridge Street, and follow it until you reach the rotary. Take the first exit onto Derby Street, which will lead you to the entrance of Winter Island. Follow signs for Winter Island/Waikiki Beach. Once you reach Winter Island Road, continue until you arrive at 60 Winter Island Rd, Salem, MA 01970. There is parking available on-site, which may incur a fee during peak times.

To reach Winter Island/Waikiki Beach via public transportation, start at the Salem MBTA Station. Board the #450 bus towards Lynn. This will take you to the intersection with Winter Island Road. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the beach area. Make sure to check the bus schedule beforehand, as the frequency may vary. The bus fare is approximately $1.50 each way.

If you are already somewhere close to Salem's waterfront, you can walk to Winter Island/Waikiki Beach. Start from the Salem Maritime National Historic Site and head southeast on the waterfront path. Continue along the coast until you reach Winter Island Road, then turn left and continue until you see signs for the beach. The walk is about 1.5 miles and should take around 30 minutes.
