If you are in the heart of Playa del Carmen, start at the famous 5th Avenue (Quinta Avenida). Walk towards the east until you reach the beach. The walk should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on your starting point. Once you reach the beach, turn left (north) and continue walking along the shoreline. You will see the Muelle de Playa del Carmen ahead, which is a large pier where ferries depart to Cozumel and other nearby destinations.

If you prefer a quicker option, head to a nearby colectivo stop. Look for shared vans that are marked with a sign indicating 'Playa del Carmen Centro' or similar. Board the colectivo and inform the driver you want to get off at the 'Muelle' or 'Ferry.' The ride should take around 5-10 minutes. Once you get off, walk a short distance toward the beach, and you will see the pier.

Many tourists rent bicycles in Playa del Carmen. If you have a bike, head towards the beach from wherever you are in downtown. Once you reach the beach, ride north along the coastline.
