Getting There

  • Collectivo

    From any location in Tulum, head to the main road, Avenida Tulum. Look for the collectivo station, which is usually near the bus terminal. Board a collectivo heading towards Coba. The fare is around 50 pesos. The ride takes about 45 minutes. You will be dropped off at the entrance of Coba archaeological site.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Tulum. Head northwest on Avenida Tulum towards the Coba road (Carretera Tulum-Coba). Follow the signs for Coba; the ride is approximately 45 minutes to an hour depending on your pace. Once you reach the entrance of Coba archaeological site, park your bicycle and proceed on foot.

  • Walking Tour

    For the adventurous, you can walk to Coba, although it will take several hours. Start from the center of Tulum and head northwest on Avenida Tulum until you reach the intersection with Carretera Tulum-Coba. Continue straight, following the road signs for Coba. This route is about 45 kilometers and will take approximately 8-10 hours, so it's recommended to start early in the morning.
