If you're driving from Cancun, take the 180 highway towards Valladolid. Continue on this road for about 150 km. Once you reach Valladolid, look for the signs directing you to Ek Balam, approximately 25 km north of the city. The archeological site is well-marked, and you will turn left at the intersection towards Ek Balam. There is a parking area available at the site, and parking is typically free.

Public Transportation
To reach Ek Balam by public transport, first head to the ADO bus terminal in Cancun. Purchase a ticket to Valladolid, which costs around 200-300 MXN. The bus ride takes about 2-3 hours. Once in Valladolid, you can take a local colectivo (shared taxi) heading to Ek Balam for about 50-80 MXN per person. The colectivo will drop you off at the entrance of the site. Be sure to check the return schedule of the colectivo to Valladolid to avoid being stranded.
