Getting There

    From the Asbury Park boardwalk, head north on the boardwalk until you reach the intersection with Ocean Avenue. Continue walking north until you reach the intersection with 5th Avenue. Turn left on 5th Avenue and walk until you reach the train station at the end of the street. From there, take a NJ Transit train to the St. George station on Staten Island. Once you arrive at St. George, transfer to the Staten Island Ferry and board the ferry. After the ferry ride, disembark at the Whitehall Terminal in Manhattan. Follow the signs to the subway station and take the R or W train to the 86th Street station. From there, transfer to a bus that goes towards Fort Wadsworth, or walk to the site, which is located near the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.

    Start at the Asbury Park train station and catch a NJ Transit train to the St. George station on Staten Island. This is a direct route. Upon arriving at St. George, look for the Staten Island Ferry terminal. Board the ferry to travel to Manhattan. After arriving, follow the signs to the subway station and take the R or W train to the 86th Street station. From there, you can either take a local bus that services Fort Wadsworth or walk towards the site, which is approximately a 30-minute walk from the station.
