Train
From Red Bank train station, board a northbound NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line towards New York Penn Station. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at New York Penn Station, transfer to the 1 subway line heading downtown. Get off at the 14th Street station and transfer to the A or C line. Take the A or C line to West 4th Street and switch to the E train going towards World Trade Center. Get off at 8th Avenue and walk to Gansevoort St. The Whitney Museum of American Art will be on your right.

Catch the NJ Transit bus #834 from Red Bank to New York Port Authority Bus Terminal. The journey will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes. After arriving at the Port Authority, walk to 8th Avenue and head south. Continue walking until you reach Gansevoort St, then turn left. The Whitney Museum of American Art will be on your right at 99 Gansevoort St.
