If you are coming from the town of Woodstock, head southwest on NY-375 W toward NY-28. Continue on NY-28 W for about 9 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-28A. Turn left onto NY-28A, and follow it for approximately 3 miles. You will see signs for Ashokan Reservoir. Turn left onto the access road to the reservoir, which will lead you directly to the parking area.

From Kingston, take NY-28 W for about 12 miles. Keep an eye out for signs indicating West Shokan and Ashokan Reservoir. As you approach the reservoir, you will need to turn right onto the access road leading to the reservoir parking area. The drive will offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Public Transportation
To reach Ashokan Reservoir via public transportation, take the Trailways bus from New York City to Kingston. From Kingston, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to Ashokan Reservoir. The taxi ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Be sure to arrange your ride in advance, especially during peak tourist seasons.

If you are coming from the town of Phoenicia, head north on NY-214 N. After about 5 miles, turn right onto NY-28 W. Follow NY-28 W for about 4 miles, then turn left onto NY-28A. Continue for about 3 miles, and follow the signs to the Ashokan Reservoir access road.

From the town of Saugerties, take NY-212 E to the intersection with NY-32 N. Turn left onto NY-32 N and follow it for about 5 miles until you reach the junction with NY-28. Turn right onto NY-28 W and follow the instructions from Kingston mentioned above.
