If you are traveling by car, head to the Fire Island Ferry terminal located in Sayville. Take the ferry to the Fire Island Pines or Ocean Beach. Once you arrive on Fire Island, you can take the Fire Island Water Taxi or walk to the nearest beach access point. After enjoying your time on Fire Island, return to the ferry terminal. From there, drive to Robert Moses State Park by taking NY-27 W (Long Island Expressway) to Robert Moses Causeway. Follow the signs to the park entrance. Note that there is a parking fee of approximately $10 per vehicle.

For those using public transportation, start by taking the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from your location to the Babylon station. From Babylon, you can take the S40 bus towards the Fire Island ferry terminal in Sayville. Once at Sayville, board the Fire Island Ferry to your chosen destination on Fire Island. After your visit, make your way back to Sayville and return to Babylon via the S40 bus. Finally, from Babylon station, catch the LIRR back to your original starting point. Be aware that ferry tickets typically cost around $20 round trip, and the bus fare is approximately $2.75.
