Once you reach Tākaka, turn left onto Commercial Street. Follow it until you reach the junction with Tākaka Valley Road, then turn right. Continue on Tākaka Valley Road for about 15 minutes until you see signs for Paines Ford on your left. The parking area is available near the river.
