Car
If you are driving from Paihia, take State Highway 11 heading towards Opua. After about 6 km, merge onto State Highway 1 towards Kawakawa. Continue on State Highway 1 for approximately 20 km until you reach the town of Kawakawa. In Kawakawa, turn left onto State Highway 10. Drive for about 15 km. When you reach the junction for Rawhiti Road, turn right. Follow Rawhiti Road for roughly 12 km until you reach a fork in the road. Keep left to stay on Rawhiti Road, which will lead you directly towards Otaio Bay. As you approach the bay, look for signs indicating the Otaio Bay area. Parking is generally available near the beach.
