Car
If you're driving from Christchurch, take State Highway 1 south towards Ashburton. After approximately 70 kilometers, take the exit for State Highway 77 toward Methven. Continue on State Highway 77 for about 25 kilometers. Once you reach Methven, follow the signs to Mt Hutt, which will take you onto Mt Hutt Station Road. The ski area is approximately 14 kilometers from Methven. Be aware that the road can be steep and may be icy during the winter months, so take extra care. Parking is available at the ski area.

From Christchurch, take a bus to Methven. Several bus services operate this route, including the 'Methven Travel' service. The journey takes around 1.5 hours. Once in Methven, you can either take a taxi or shuttle service to Mt Hutt Ski Area, which is about a 20-minute drive away.
