Car
From Fox Glacier, head south on State Highway 6 towards Franz Josef. After about 20 minutes (approximately 22 km), turn left onto Okarito Road. Continue on Okarito Road for about 10 km until you reach Okarito. Once in Okarito, turn left onto Wharf Street. The Okarito Wharf Building will be on your right, look for the historical structure near the waterfront.

There is limited public transport directly from Fox Glacier to Okarito. You can take a bus from Fox Glacier to Franz Josef (check local schedules), and then from Franz Josef, you can catch a shuttle service to Okarito. It is advisable to book the shuttle in advance as services may not be frequent. Once in Okarito, walk to Wharf Street, where the Okarito Wharf Building is located.
