From Fox Glacier, start by heading south on State Highway 6 (SH6) towards Whataroa. The drive is approximately 28 kilometers and will take around 30 minutes. Continue straight on SH6 until you reach the junction with Whataroa Road. Turn left onto Whataroa Road, and follow it for about 10 kilometers. Scenic Lookout will be on your right, just before you reach the town of Whataroa. Make sure to look for the signs indicating the lookout.

If you are using public transport, check the local bus schedules for services from Fox Glacier to Whataroa. The bus journey may take about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the service. Once you arrive at Whataroa, you can either walk or take a taxi to Scenic Lookout, which is about 1 kilometer away from the bus stop. Walking will take approximately 15 minutes. Make sure to call a local taxi service if necessary, as they may be limited.
