If you are traveling by car, start from the Aoraki/Mount Cook Village. Head south on State Highway 80, following the signs towards Mount Cook National Park. Once you reach the village, park your vehicle at the designated parking area. From here, look for the Hooker Valley Track, which begins at the end of the parking lot. The track is well-marked and leads you towards Hooker Hut. It's approximately a 1.5-hour walk to Hooker Hut, with stunning views of the Hooker Valley and Mount Cook along the way.

If you are using public transport, you can take a bus from Christchurch to Mount Cook Village. Companies like InterCity or the Mount Cook Connection offer services to the village. Once you arrive at the Mount Cook Village, you will need to walk to the Hooker Valley Track, which is located at the end of the village. The walk to Hooker Hut from this point takes about 1.5 hours and offers spectacular scenery, so be sure to have your camera ready!
