Getting There

Car
If you are driving, head towards the Aoraki Mount Cook Village from the SH80 road. Follow the signs to Mount Cook National Park. Once you reach the village, park your vehicle in the designated parking area near the visitor center. From the parking area, follow the signs for the Hooker Valley Track. The Hooker Trail Head is located at the start of this track, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the parking area.

Public Transportation
Take a bus service that operates from major cities like Christchurch or Queenstown to Aoraki Mount Cook Village. Once you arrive at the village, you can use the local shuttle service that operates frequently to transfer you to the Hooker Valley Track. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule ahead of time as it may vary. The shuttle will take you to the trail head, where you can begin your hike.

If you are already in the village and prefer to walk, simply head towards the Hooker Valley Track which begins from the village. It is well-marked and the walk to the Hooker Trail Head takes about 15 minutes. Follow the pathways lined with signs that direct you towards the Hooker Valley Track, enjoying the stunning views along the way.
