If you're driving, start from the Mount Cook Village. Head south on State Highway 80, following the signs toward the Tasman Valley. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will reach the Tasman Glacier car park. Park your car here; parking is free. From the car park, follow the well-marked walking track toward the Tasman Glacier Viewpoint, which is about a 30-minute walk (1.2 km). The trail is relatively flat and suitable for most fitness levels. As you walk, you'll enjoy views of the glacier and surrounding mountains.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus from Twizel to Mount Cook Village. The bus service operates regularly, but check the schedule ahead of your visit. Once in Mount Cook Village, you can walk to the Tasman Valley. It's approximately a 10-kilometer walk to the car park, which will take about 2 hours. Alternatively, you can contact local tour operators for shuttle services that will take you directly to the Tasman Glacier car park. Be aware that shuttle services may incur additional costs, usually around NZD 30-50 per person, depending on the operator.
