Car
From Dunedin, take State Highway 1 (SH1) north towards Oamaru. After approximately 90 kilometers, take the exit for SH1 towards Moeraki. Continue on SH1 until you reach the town of Moeraki. Take Moeraki Boulders Road towards the coast, then follow the signs for Shag Point. The drive will take around 1.5 hours. Once you reach Shag Point, turn onto Shag Point Road, and follow it to the lookout, which is well-marked. Parking is available near the lookout.

From Dunedin, you can catch a bus to Oamaru. Check with local bus companies like Go Bus or InterCity for schedules. Once in Oamaru, you will need to take a taxi to Shag Point, which is about 30 kilometers away. Ensure you arrange for a taxi in advance as public transport to Shag Point is limited.
