If you are in the Rotorua city center, head southeast on Fenton Street towards Victoria Street. Continue straight onto Pukuatua Street, which will lead you to the intersection with Te Ngae Road. Turn left onto Te Ngae Road and continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. When you reach the roundabout, take the first exit onto Tarawera Road. After about 500 meters, you will see the entrance to the Redwoods – Whakarewarewa Forest on your left.

From the Rotorua city center, walk to the nearest bus stop on Fenton Street. Look for a bus that heads towards the Whakarewarewa area (check local schedules for specific routes). Buses typically run every 30 minutes. Get off at the Whakarewarewa stop, and from there, it's a short 10-minute walk to the entrance of the Redwoods – Whakarewarewa Forest. Follow the signs towards the forest entrance.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in Rotorua. Start by heading southeast on Fenton Street, then turn onto Pukuatua Street.
