Bus
Start at the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 1167 Fenton Street, Rotorua. From there, take the bus service to Lake Ōkareka. The bus route usually runs several times a day, so check the latest schedule at the i-SITE. After arriving at the Lake Ōkareka stop, walk towards Tarawera Road. The entrance to the Tikitapu Nature Walk is located approximately 10 minutes from the bus stop, at 655 Tarawera Road. Look for signs leading to the scenic reserve.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Rotorua, such as 'Rotorua Mountain Bike Rentals' or 'Bike Rotorua'. Head out towards Tarawera Road, following the cycle path signs. The journey is approximately 10 km and takes about 30-45 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. Once on Tarawera Road, look for the entrance to Tikitapu Nature Walk at 655 Tarawera Road, which will be on your left.

Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and are up for a longer walk, you can walk from Rotorua to Tikitapu Nature Walk. Start from the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre and head south along Fenton Street. Continue onto Tarawera Road, following the road signs towards Lake Ōkareka. The total walking distance is about 10 km and will take approximately 2 hours. Look for the entrance to the Tikitapu Nature Walk at 655 Tarawera Road as you approach Lake Ōkareka.
