Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Rotorua city center, head east on Fenton Street until you reach the intersection with Tarawera Road. Turn left onto Tarawera Road and continue straight for about 2 kilometers. Look for the entrance to the Redwoods Treewalk on your left, which is near the Whakarewarewa Forest area. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.

    You can catch a bus from the Rotorua Central Bus Station. Take the bus that heads towards Whakarewarewa. Get off at the stop near Tarawera Road and Tītokorangi Drive intersection. From there, it's a short 10-minute walk to the entrance of the Redwoods Treewalk, heading down Long Mile Road.
