If you're driving from Tasman, head south on State Highway 1 (SH1) towards New Plymouth. Continue on SH1 for approximately 55 kilometers. Then, take the exit onto State Highway 3 (SH3) towards Tongapōrutu. After about 12 kilometers, turn left onto Clifton Road. Follow Clifton Road for about 5 kilometers until you reach the parking area near the Three Sisters and Elephant Rock. There are no tolls on this route.

To reach the Three Sisters and Elephant Rock via public transport, begin your journey at the nearest bus station in Tasman. You will need to take a bus that travels towards New Plymouth. Once you arrive in New Plymouth, transfer to another bus that goes to Tongapōrutu. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they can vary. Once in Tongapōrutu, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to Clifton Road, which is about 5 kilometers away from the bus stop. Make sure to have cash or a card for the taxi fare, as well as for the bus fares.

For the adventurous, cycling from Tasman to the Three Sisters and Elephant Rock is an option. Start on State Highway 1 (SH1) heading south, then connect to State Highway 3 (SH3) towards Tongapōrutu.
