Walking
From the center of Wanaka, head southwest on Ardmore Street toward Dungarvon Street. Continue onto the Wanaka-Mount Aspiring Road (State Highway 84). Follow this road for approximately 5 km. Look for the sign for Glendhu Bay Track as you approach the area. You will find a walking path leading to Ruby Island Road. Follow Ruby Island Road until you reach the track entrance, which is well marked.

Bicycle
If you have a bicycle, you can take a similar route as walking. Start at the Wanaka Lakefront and head towards Ardmore Street. Once on Wanaka-Mount Aspiring Road, there is a bike lane, so you can safely ride for about 5 km. Look for the sign directing you to Glendhu Bay Track, then continue on Ruby Island Road until you arrive at the trailhead.

Check local bus schedules for services that run from central Wanaka to Glendhu Bay. These services may be limited, so plan ahead. If available, board the bus heading towards Cardrona for Glendhu Bay.
