From the center of Wanaka, head southwest on Ardmore Street toward Dungarvon Street. Continue onto the Wanaka-Mount Aspiring Road (State Highway 84). Follow this road for approximately 5 km. Look for the sign for Glendhu Bay Track as you approach the area. You will find a walking path leading to Ruby Island Road. Follow Ruby Island Road until you reach the track entrance, which is well marked.

If you have a bicycle, you can take a similar route as walking. Start at the Wanaka Lakefront and head towards Ardmore Street. Once on Wanaka-Mount Aspiring Road, there is a bike lane, so you can safely ride for about 5 km. Look for the sign directing you to Glendhu Bay Track, then continue on Ruby Island Road until you arrive at the trailhead.
