Walking
Start at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre located on Ardmore Street in Wanaka. Head south on Ardmore Street until you reach the intersection with Dungarvon Street. Turn left onto Dungarvon Street and continue straight until you reach the Wanaka Station Park. From the park, follow the path that leads you to the lakeside promenade along Lake Wanaka. Enjoy the scenic views as you walk towards the southern part of the lake. Keep following the path that runs beside the lake until you reach the junction with West Wanaka Road. Turn left onto West Wanaka Road and continue walking. Stay on this road as it leads towards Glendhu Bay. The Rocky Mountain Lake Wānaka viewpoint is located along the Rocky Mountain Summit Track, which starts near the Glendhu Bay area. Look out for the track entrance on your left; a sign will indicate the start of the trail. The hike to the viewpoint will take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your pace.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in Wanaka. Start at the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre and head south on Ardmore Street. When you reach Dungarvon Street, turn left and continue cycling until you reach the Wanaka Station Park. From there, follow the lakeside promenade south along Lake Wanaka, enjoying the views. Continue cycling until you reach the intersection with West Wanaka Road. Turn left onto West Wanaka Road and keep cycling towards Glendhu Bay. Look for the Rocky Mountain Summit Track on your left, where you can lock your bike at the entrance. The track will lead you on a scenic hike to the Rocky Mountain Lake Wānaka viewpoint.

Public Transport
To reach the Rocky Mountain Lake Wānaka viewpoint using public transport, find the nearest bus stop on Ardmore Street near the Wanaka i-SITE Visitor Centre. Check the local bus schedule for services heading towards Glendhu Bay. Board the bus and request to be dropped off at the closest stop to West Wanaka Road. Once you arrive, walk along West Wanaka Road and keep an eye out for the entrance to the Rocky Mountain Summit Track on your left. The hike from the track entrance to the viewpoint will take about 1-2 hours, offering beautiful vistas of Lake Wanaka along the way.
