Walking
From the centre of Wanaka, head south on Ardmore Street towards the lakefront. Continue along the lakefront path until you reach the Wanaka Boat Harbour. At the harbour, follow the path along the shoreline until you reach the intersection with the Mount Aspiring Road (State Highway 84). Turn left onto Mount Aspiring Road and walk for approximately 5.5 kilometers. You'll pass by the scenic Glendhu Bay along the way. Look for the sign for Diamond Lake Conservation Area on your right. The entrance to the area is located at 1215 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road. Follow the signs to the parking area.

If you have a bike, you can rent one from a local shop in Wanaka. Start from the Wanaka town centre and ride south on Ardmore Street towards the lakefront. Continue along the lakefront path, then follow the road to the Wanaka Boat Harbour. Once at the harbour, turn onto Mount Aspiring Road (State Highway 84) and cycle for about 5.5 kilometers. Be cautious of traffic as you ride. Look for signs for Diamond Lake Conservation Area, which will be on your right-hand side. The entrance is at 1215 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road.
