Walking
From the Whangarei Town Basin, start by heading east along the Hatea River. Follow the riverside path, enjoying the views of the marina, until you reach the intersection with the Onerahi Road. Cross the road and continue on the pathway until you see the sign for Onerahi. Turn right onto Onerahi Road and follow it as it curves. After about 1 km, you will reach Kioreroa Scenic Reserve on your left. Look for the entrance marked with signs indicating the reserve.

Public Transport
From the Whangarei Central Bus Station, take the bus service heading to Onerahi. The bus route typically stops at several points along Onerahi Road. Request to get off at the nearest stop to Kioreroa Scenic Reserve. After disembarking, walk back along Onerahi Road for approximately 200 meters, and you will find the entrance to the reserve on your right. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance to plan your trip accordingly.

If you are cycling, start at the Whangarei Town Basin and head towards Onerahi via the dedicated cycle paths along the Hatea River. Once you reach Onerahi Road, continue to follow the road, keeping to the cycle lane. After approximately 2 km, watch for signs indicating Kioreroa Scenic Reserve on your left. There is bike parking available at the entrance of the reserve.
