Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Skardu, which is the nearest major town to Deosai National Park. Drive towards the Skardu to Astore road. After approximately 30 kilometers, take a left turn towards Deosai National Park. Continue on this road until you reach the park entrance. Make sure to pay the park entry fee at the entrance, which is generally around PKR 50 per person. Once inside the park, follow the signs to Deosai Plains, about 30 kilometers further into the park. The road can be rough and may require a 4x4 vehicle depending on the weather conditions.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Skardu to Astore. Buses depart frequently from the main bus terminal in Skardu. The journey typically takes about 2-3 hours. Once you reach Astore, you can hire a local jeep (which is common in this region) to take you to Deosai Plains. The jeep ride will cost around PKR 3000-4000 and will take approximately 1-2 hours depending on the road conditions. Ensure to negotiate the price beforehand and confirm the return trip if you plan to come back to Astore.

If you are adventurous and already inside Deosai National Park, you can hike to Deosai Plains from various starting points in the park. One popular route starts from the Sheosar Lake area. The hike is about 10 kilometers and can take around 3-4 hours depending on your pace. Ensure you are well-prepared with adequate supplies, including water and snacks, as well as a map or a guide. The views along the way are stunning, so take your time to enjoy the scenery.
