Getting There

Bus
From Huaraz, head to the main bus terminal, Terminal Terrestre de Huaraz, which is located on Avenida Luzuriaga. You can reach the terminal by walking or taking a taxi from your accommodation. Look for buses heading to 'Pitec' or 'Cashapampa,' as these are common access points to Cordillera Blanca. The bus ride will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Ensure to confirm with the bus driver that the destination is indeed to the starting points for the Cordillera Blanca trekking routes.

Hiking
Once you arrive at the destination bus stop (either Pitec or Cashapampa), you will need to prepare for your hike. If you arrive at Pitec, follow the marked trail towards Laguna 69, which is a popular trekking route in the Cordillera Blanca. The hike will take about 3-4 hours one way. If you are at Cashapampa, you can begin your trek towards the Santa Cruz trek, which may take around 4-5 hours to reach the first campsite.
