Car
To reach Cabaña de laguna Cancaragá by car from the nearest major town, Huaraz, start by heading southeast on Av. Luzuriaga towards Av. 28 de Julio. Continue on the main road, following signs for Huascarán National Park. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will arrive at the entrance of the park. Ensure you have your entry ticket ready; it costs around 30 PEN per person. Once inside the park, follow the signs towards the Laguna Parón and then to Cabaña de laguna Cancaragá. The road may be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Park your vehicle at the designated area near the cabin.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Huaraz to Carhuaz. Buses run frequently and the fare is about 10 PEN. Upon reaching Carhuaz, find a local taxi or a shared taxi (colectivo) heading towards Huascarán National Park. Make sure to communicate your destination to the driver. The taxi ride will take around 30 minutes and may cost approximately 20 PEN per person. Once you reach the park entrance, purchase your entry ticket. After entering the park, you can either hike or arrange for a local guide to take you to Cabaña de laguna Cancaragá, as it is about a 1.5-hour hike from the nearest road access point.

If you're already in Huascarán National Park and are looking for a hiking option, start from the nearest trailhead after entering the park. The trail to Cabaña de laguna Cancaragá is moderately challenging and takes about 1.5 hours to hike. Follow the signs for Laguna Parón, and you will find trails leading to the cabin. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and carry enough water and snacks, as the trail can be steep and rugged in some sections.
