Walking
From the main entrance of Machu Picchu, head towards the main archaeological site. Follow the main path that leads through the ruins, keeping to your left. After exploring the site, continue walking towards the exit. Once you reach the exit gate, turn left and walk along the path for about 10 minutes until you reach the bridge that crosses the river. Cross the bridge and follow the signs towards 'Mirador Chontachaca.' The trail will gradually ascend, and you should be walking for approximately 30-40 minutes through the lush greenery until you reach the viewpoint.

If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can hike from the main path to the viewpoint. After exiting Machu Picchu, take the trail that leads towards the lower hills. Follow the path that veers right towards the higher elevation trails. Keep an eye out for markers or signs indicating 'Mirador Chontachaca.' This route might take about 1 hour if you maintain a steady pace. The trail can be steep and rocky, so be prepared with good footwear.
