From the main entrance of Machu Picchu, begin your journey by walking to the nearest trailhead. Follow the signs directing you towards the Machu Picchu Mountain trail. The trail starts off with a steep ascent, so be prepared for a workout. After approximately 30 minutes of hiking, you will reach a viewpoint where you can take a break and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
