Start at the center of Ponte de Lima, at Praça da República, where the iconic bridge (Ponte de Lima) is located. From there, head northwest along Rua do Comércio for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Rua 1º de Maio. Turn left onto Rua 1º de Maio and continue straight for another 300 meters until you reach the bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Ponte de Lima). Here, you can catch a bus heading towards Castro Laboreiro. Ensure to check the bus schedule in advance as timings may vary. Once on the bus, sit back and enjoy the scenic ride through the beautiful countryside. Be sure to alight at the 'Castro Laboreiro' stop. The bus journey typically takes around 30 minutes. Upon getting off, you will find yourself at the foot of the hill leading up to Ponte velha de Castro Laboreiro. From the bus stop, walk up the hill for about 15 minutes, following the signs directing you to the castle and the old bridge. The bridge will be visible as you approach, and you will be rewarded with stunning views once you reach it.
