To reach Largo da República do Brasil in Guimarães from Porto, start at São Bento Train Station in Porto. Purchase a ticket to Guimarães at the ticket counter or a self-service machine. Once you have your ticket, take the train heading towards Guimarães, which typically departs from Platform 1. The journey takes about 1 hour. Upon arriving in Guimarães, exit the train station and head towards the main road (Avenida de Guimarães) in front of you. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach Largo da República do Brasil, which is a prominent square in the city center.

If you prefer to travel by bus, head to the Campo 24 de Agosto bus terminal in Porto. Look for the bus company 'Rede Expressos' or 'O Meu Bairro' that services Guimarães. Purchase a ticket to Guimarães at the terminal. The bus ride takes approximately 1.5 hours. Once you arrive at the Guimarães bus terminal, exit and walk towards Avenida de Guimarães. Continue walking for about 15 minutes straight until you reach Largo da República do Brasil.

You can also take the metro from Porto to the outskirts of Guimarães. Start at the Aliados metro station in Porto and take the metro to the Centro de Estágios station.
