    Car

    If you're driving, head towards Ocean Avenue from downtown Newport. You can start at the intersection of Thames Street and Memorial Boulevard. Follow Memorial Boulevard south for approximately 1 mile until it merges with Ocean Avenue. Continue on Ocean Avenue for about 1.5 miles. Gooseberry Beach will be on your right at 130 Ocean Ave. Look for the beach parking area.

    Public Transportation

    To reach Gooseberry Beach using public transportation, take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus route 60 from Newport Gateway Center. Ride the bus towards Middletown and get off at the stop near the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Gooseberry Road. From the bus stop, walk about 0.3 miles south on Ocean Avenue to reach Gooseberry Beach, located at 130 Ocean Ave. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips.
