From Karongi town center, head east towards the main road (RN5). Follow the road until you reach the junction with the road leading to Gisenyi. Turn left onto this road and continue walking for approximately 15-20 minutes. You will pass by local shops and markets. Keep an eye out for signs that direct you to Goma. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will see a sign for Goma on your right. Take this right turn and continue on this road for about 5 kilometers. You will eventually reach the border area. Walk through the border crossing where you will need to show your passport. Once in Goma, continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach Rond Point Tshukudu, which is a prominent intersection in Goma.
