Walking
From the main beach area in Gisenyi, head towards Avenue du Lac. Walk along the lakeshore until you reach the bustling market area. Continue walking north along Avenue du Lac until you reach the roundabout at the junction with Avenue de l'Indépendance. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue de l'Indépendance and keep walking straight until you reach the border post. Here, you will need to go through immigration checks. Once across the border into Goma, head towards the main road. Follow the road signs towards Rond Point Tshukudu/Goma, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the border. You will find Rond Point Tshukudu/Goma at the intersection of Avenue de la Réunification and Avenue du Lac in Goma.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can pedal from Gisenyi to Goma. Start from the main beach area in Gisenyi and ride along Avenue du Lac towards the market area. Head north on Avenue du Lac, and when you reach the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue cycling straight to the border post. After passing through immigration, continue cycling towards the main road in Goma. Follow the signs for Rond Point Tshukudu/Goma, which is about a 15-minute ride from the border. It’s a scenic route along the lake, and you can enjoy the views of Lake Kivu.
