    From North Charleston, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the CARTA Route 10 (North Charleston to Charleston). Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the stop at the corner of Calhoun Street and Meeting Street. Once you get off, walk south on Meeting Street for 0.5 miles until you reach Aquarium Wharf. The South Carolina Aquarium will be on your left at 100 Aquarium Wharf.

    If you prefer to ride a bike, you can rent one from a local bike shop in North Charleston. Head south on the North Charleston bike path towards the Charleston city limits. Continue onto East Bay Street, which will lead you directly into the historic area of Charleston. Follow East Bay Street until you reach the intersection with Aquarium Wharf. Turn right onto Aquarium Wharf, and the South Carolina Aquarium will be on your left.

  • Walking

    If you're starting from a central location in North Charleston, like the North Charleston Coliseum, walk towards the nearest bus stop and take the CARTA Route 10 or simply begin walking south towards Charleston. It’s about a 6-mile walk that will take approximately 2 hours. Follow the signs towards downtown Charleston, walking along Rivers Avenue, and then turn onto Meeting Street. Continue south until you reach Aquarium Wharf, where the South Carolina Aquarium will be on your left at 100 Aquarium Wharf.
