If you're driving, head towards Custer, SD, using US-16A. For those coming from Rapid City, simply take US-16 W, which will lead you directly to the Custer area. As you approach Custer, look for signs indicating Custer State Park. The Welcome to Custer State Park Sign is located at the entrance on US-16A, just outside of the town of Custer. Be prepared for a $20 entrance fee per vehicle to access the park, which is well worth it for the scenic views and wildlife.
