From the Mount Rushmore National Memorial, head northwest on SD-244 toward the intersection with US-16A. Continue walking straight for about 3.5 miles, enjoying the scenic views along the way. From the Mount Rushmore Visitor Center, take the local shuttle bus that operates during peak tourist season. Board the bus heading toward Custer State Park. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the Custer State Park entrance.
