Car
If you are driving from Anuradhapura town, take the A9 road south. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction for the A12 road. Turn left onto A12 towards Polonnaruwa. Drive for about 20 km, and you will see signs for Wasgamuwa National Park. Follow the signs until you reach the park entrance located at QW3C+78R, Nuwaragala. Note that the entrance fee for the park is approximately LKR 3,000 for foreigners.

Public Transportation
To reach Wasgamuwa National Park via public transportation, first take a bus from Anuradhapura to Dambulla. Buses leave frequently from the Anuradhapura Central Bus Stand. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around LKR 150. Once you arrive in Dambulla, you will need to catch a local bus heading towards Wasgamuwa. This bus ride will take approximately 1 hour and costs about LKR 100. The bus will drop you off near the park entrance. Make sure to confirm the bus's final stop is near Wasgamuwa National Park before boarding.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Anuradhapura to Wasgamuwa National Park. The ride will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Expect to pay around LKR 4,000 to LKR 5,000 for this service. It is advisable to negotiate the fare before starting your journey. The taxi can drop you directly at the park entrance.
