If you are driving from the center of Polonnaruwa, head southeast on the A11 road. Continue for about 5 kilometers until you reach a junction at the Polonnaruwa-Embekke road. Turn left onto this road and drive for about 3 kilometers. Look for signs towards Kadawala Wewa. As you approach the lake, you will see a small road that leads directly to the lake's edge. There is usually parking available near the lake.

Once you arrive in Medirigiriya, you can hire a tuk-tuk to take you directly to Kadawala Wewa. This tuk-tuk ride should cost around 300 LKR and will take about 15-20 minutes.
