Getting There

Walking
From the center of Anuradhapura, head towards the Anuradhapura Railway Station. Once you reach the station, exit the station area and walk towards the main road, which is Station Road. Continue straight along Station Road until you reach the intersection with New Town Road. Turn left onto New Town Road and walk for about 3 kilometers. You will see signs directing you towards Mihintale. Follow the signs, which will lead you onto Mihintale Road. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will reach the entrance to Mihintale. The Mihindu Cave is located a short walk from the main entrance.

Tuk-Tuk
From your location in Anuradhapura, find a tuk-tuk or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. Inform the driver that you want to go to Mihintale. The ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of Mihintale.
