If you're driving, start from Kandy, which is a central hub in Sri Lanka. Take the A26 road heading towards Mahiyangana. After approximately 30 km, you will reach the junction at the town of Hunnasgiriya. Turn onto the B528 road towards Sorabora Wewa. Follow the signs for Sorabora Lake Road. The total drive should take around 1 hour, depending on traffic.

From Kandy, take a bus heading towards Mahiyangana. Buses leave frequently from the Kandy bus station. Once you reach the Mahiyangana bus station, you will need to take a local tuk-tuk to reach Sorabora Wewa. It's about a 15-minute ride from Mahiyangana. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which usually ranges from 300 to 500 LKR.

For those who have a vehicle but want to explore more, drive to the town of Mahiyangana as mentioned earlier. Park your car at the Mahiyangana bus station or nearby designated parking areas. From there, you can either take a tuk-tuk or walk to Sorabora Wewa. The walk from the bus station to the lake is about 3 km and offers a chance to enjoy the local scenery.
