Starting from Kandy city center, head towards the Kandy Lake. Walk around the lake until you reach the Kandy Clock Tower. From the Clock Tower, take the road heading northeast towards the Kandy General Hospital. Continue straight for about 1.5 km until you reach the Kandy Bus Station. At the bus station, look for buses heading towards Mahiyanganaya. Purchase a ticket and board the bus. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Mahiyanganaya, ask the bus conductor to drop you off at the nearest point to Mahiyangana Raja Maha Viharaya. From there, you can walk to the main entrance (Wahalkada) which is nearby.
