Getting There

Walking
Start your journey from the Kandy City Center. Exit the shopping complex and head towards the main road (A26). Once on the A26, turn left and walk towards the Kandy Lake. After about 10 minutes, you will reach the Kandy Lake roundabout. From there, continue straight on the A26 for about 1 kilometer until you see the turn-off for the Hanthana area on your right. This road is marked with a signpost indicating Hanthana. Follow this road for about 2 kilometers, and you will reach Hanthana No :2, which is a popular viewpoint.

Tuk-Tuk
From Kandy City Center, find a tuk-tuk stand (there are several around the city). Inform the driver that you want to go to Hanthana No :2. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to the base of Hanthana where you can start your hike up to the viewpoint. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.

Public Bus
Walk to the nearest bus stop on the A26 road (Kandy - Peradeniya route). Board a bus heading towards Peradeniya and ask the conductor to drop you off at the Hanthana junction. This journey will take about 30 minutes. Once you get off the bus, walk up the road towards Hanthana for about 1 kilometer until you reach Hanthana No :2.
