Getting There

Walking
From the center of Kandy, head towards the Kandy Lake and walk along the lake's perimeter. Exit the lake area at the Kandy Museum and proceed towards the Kandy General Hospital. Continue straight until you reach the main road, and take a right. Follow the road until you reach the junction at Hantana Road. Here, you can either take a bus or walk up Hantana Road towards the mountain range.

From the Kandy bus station, take a bus heading to Hantana. You can ask locals for the specific bus number, but generally, any bus that has Hantana in its route will work. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Get off at the Hantana junction stop. From there, you can either walk or take a three-wheeler to the base of the Hanthana Mountain Range.
