Getting There

Walking
Starting from the center of Nuwara Eliya (think of the post office as a central landmark), head towards the main road that leads out of town. Walk along the A7 road heading towards Kandy. After approximately 2 kilometers, you will reach a junction. Continue straight on the A7 road for about 7 kilometers until you see signs for Hanthana Mountain View Point. Follow the signs, and you will find a narrow road leading up the mountain. It is advisable to ask locals for directions if you feel unsure at any point.

Tuk-Tuk
If you prefer a more comfortable option, you can take a Tuk-Tuk from Nuwara Eliya to Hanthana Mountain View Point. Simply find a Tuk-Tuk stand or ask your hotel to arrange one for you. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes. The driver will follow the A7 road towards Kandy, and you can show them the location or ask them to take you to the Hanthana viewpoint. Ensure to confirm the fare before starting your journey.

Public Bus
You can also use the public bus system to reach Hanthana Mountain View Point. From the main bus station in Nuwara Eliya, catch a bus heading to Kandy. Inform the conductor that you want to stop near Hanthana Mountain View Point. The journey will take around 1 hour. After you get off, you may need to walk a short distance up the mountain road to reach the viewpoint.
