Start from the Kandy City Center (KCC). Exit the KCC and head towards the Kandy Lake. Walk along the lake's edge until you reach the Kandy Railway Station. From there, take the path leading to the D.S. Senanayake Veediya (Main Street). Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the Peradeniya Road (A1).

At the intersection with Peradeniya Road, turn left and walk for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several shops and local eateries. Look for signs towards Hanthana. You may also ask a local for directions to Hanthana, as they will be familiar with the area.

After 1 kilometer, you will reach a junction. Here, turn right onto Hanthana Road, which is a smaller road. Continue walking straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will start to see signs indicating that you are getting closer to Hanthana No.1.

As you walk along Hanthana Road, you will see lush greenery and possibly some locals going about their daily routines. Keep an eye out for a narrow path leading up the hill on your left; this is the route to Hanthana No.1. Follow this path uphill.

The path will eventually lead you directly to Hanthana No.1. It may take about 30 minutes to hike up, depending on your pace. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with stunning views of Kandy city and the surrounding mountains.
