If you are traveling by car in Minneriya National Park, head towards Kandy, which is approximately 25 kilometers away from the park entrance. Use the A1 road, and upon reaching Kandy, follow the signs to Sangamitta Mawatha. The Udawatta Kele Sanctuary is located at the Forest Department Office on Sangamitta Mawatha. Make sure to park your vehicle at designated areas near the sanctuary entrance.

To reach Udawatta Kele Sanctuary using public transportation, take a bus from Minneriya National Park to Kandy. Buses frequently operate on this route and the journey may take around 1-1.5 hours. Once in Kandy, disembark at the main bus terminal and take a tuk-tuk or local bus to Sangamitta Mawatha. The fare for the tuk-tuk is approximately 200-300 LKR. The sanctuary entrance is a short walk from the drop-off point.
