If you are traveling by car, head towards the center of Polonnaruwa. From the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum, take the road heading south towards the ancient city. Follow the signs for the archaeological sites. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will see the Lotus Pond (Nelum Pokuna II) on your left side, just off the unnamed road. There is a small parking area nearby where you can leave your car.

For those using public transportation, take a local bus from the Polonnaruwa bus station towards the archaeological sites. Buses are frequent and cost around 30-50 LKR. Request the driver to drop you off near the ancient city entrance. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk. Head south along the main road, and after about 1 kilometer, you will see the Lotus Pond on your left. Follow the path off the unnamed road to reach the pond.

If you are already within walking distance in the archaeological area, navigate towards the main road from any nearby attraction. Locate the path that leads south towards the ancient city. Continue walking for approximately 1 kilometer until you spot the Lotus Pond (Nelum Pokuna II) on your left, just off the unnamed road. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
